When Children are Hungry

Regular hunger experienced by children negatively impacts their ability to learn. Both physical and mental functions are affected by food insecurity. Concentration, memory, mood, and motor skills—all crucial for success in school—are compromised.

Additionally, children who lack sufficient food at home tend to score lower on IQ tests. They struggle with social interactions and achieve lower math and general test scores compared to their peers who have adequate access to food.
